Wells Jacks Two Home Runs in 9-1 Irving Win
|
Irving first baseman James Wells helped his team beat the Casper Ghosts, 9-1. Wells, who is tied for 10th in the 3AA in bases on balls with 42, went 2 for 3 for the Blue Sox. Picking up the win was Chin-yau Tu. He went 8.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 2. The Blue Sox go to 34-51 with the win.
Wells had a key at-bat for Irving early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Irving an early 2-0 lead.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Wells.
