Sixshooters Topple Farmers, 5-3
|
A 3-RBI performance from Eric Bowman, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AA in extra base hits with 34, helped the Westwood Sixshooters beat the Lancaster Farmers, 5-3. José Pérez picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-4. Jesús Pérez converted his 10th save in 10 tries.
With Westwood leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Bowman hit a sinker from Jeff Petersen for a bases-clearing double. It was his 20th double of the season and put the Sixshooters ahead, 5-1.
"I like our mindset right now," said Westwood manager Cedric Fields.
Westwood has now won 4 games in a row.
