Saboteurs Stick Fur Traders with 3-1 Loss
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Toledo Saboteurs and the Tacoma Fur Traders, pitcher Luis Montáñez was the difference between victory and defeat. The Toledo right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 Saboteurs win. In 6 innings, Montáñez surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Claudio Aguilar earned the save for Toledo, his 8th of the year.
Toledo needed the clutch hitting of Ralph McDonald to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Saboteurs on top, 3-1. For the game, McDonald had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," McDonald told the Toledo Daily.
The Saboteurs now own a record of 36-30.
