Farmers Fall Short, 4-3, at Billings
|
The Billings Polar Bears did just enough to sneak past the Lancaster Farmers, 4-3, at The Igloo. Billings pitcher Bob Brown, in particular, had a standout performance. Billings has now won 4 games in a row.
Billings second baseman Dave Jones contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 28th hit of the season and put the Polar Bears ahead, 1-0.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Billings manager Marvin Nelson.
