The Westwood Sixshooters bested the Marquette Miners, 10-1, at Sixshooters Stadium. Wayne Newman was one of the standouts. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Westwood, now 32-30, holds down 6th place in the Menard's AA.

With Westwood leading 7-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Newman came up to bat against Marquette pitcher Arturo Sánchez. Newman hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Sixshooters on top, 10-1.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Westwood manager Cedric Fields.
