Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Blue Sox
The Tacoma Fur Traders got a superb performance from pitcher Paco Meza. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Irving. The Blue Sox won the game, 4-3. Meza threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 runs. Rob McQueen snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 3-3 on the season. The Blue Sox are now 24-36, while the Fur Traders fall to 22-38.

Irving used a clutch hit from James Wells to get the win. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Sox ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Afterward, Wells deflected to his teammates. "Heck of an effort all around," he said.
