The Casper Ghosts and Asheville Highlanders were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Casper Ghosts, 9-4, in M3L Double A action at The Graveyard. Asheville pitcher Guy Riggs had a standout performance. Riggs, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ken Combs? The Asheville center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Highlanders on top, 2-0. For the game, Combs had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Riggs said in reaction to the win.

The second-place Highlanders go to 33-26.
