The Miners faced a stiff challenge from Asheville pitcher Clemenz Lawrence, but persevered to claim a win at Marquette Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Lawrence went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner in relief was Ambrosi Pigafetta. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-2. Marquette bumps their record to 27-25 with the win.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 13th, an error by the Highlanders allowed the Miners to score the winning run.
