|
Behind the hitting of Jarrod Armstrong, the Billings Polar Bears stopped the Asheville Highlanders, 4-3. Armstrong went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Polar Bears. Júlio Martínez earned the save, his 18th, for the Polar Bears. The Menard's AA-leading Polar Bears are 33-17.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Armstrong delivered big-time for Billings, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Cory Black. The game-changing hit put the Polar Bears on top, 4-3.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Billings manager Marvin Nelson.
