Sixshooters Earn 6-5 Win Versus Blue Sox
|
The Westwood Sixshooters and Irving Blue Sox obliged fans looking for a good time.
The Sixshooters grabbed a win, 6-5, at Sixshooters Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Irving pitcher Andy Benson. Benson went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Westwood reliever Chris Rainville picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Júlio Zúñiga absorbed the loss.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Alan Coxall was at the plate when Westwood scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Sixshooters to go in front, 6-5.
"I had a good game," said Coxall. "Winning makes it even better."
Westwood is now 20-18.
