The Billings Polar Bears got a superb performance from pitcher Nathan Sims, but the Tacoma Fur Traders still won the game, 6-1. Sims threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Thomas Jones was at the plate when Tacoma scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Fur Traders to go in front, 2-1.
