Pretty Helps Highlanders Beat Nationals, 8-5
|
The 8-5 Asheville win over Ottawa was due in large part to Nathan Pretty. The Highlanders second baseman was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Tom Young got the save, the 9th for him this season. The loss makes Ottawa 19-17.
Pretty had a timely hit for Asheville in the top of the seventh. With Ottawa trailing 3-2, he turned a 2-2 curveball into a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 6-3, Asheville.
"What we get, we earn," Pretty told the Asheville Chronicle.
