The Marquette Miners beat the Yakima Hops, 5-3. Marquette pitcher and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native Ben Gallagher led the way. The winning pitcher was Gallagher, now 4-3. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3.

Marquette took a 4-3 lead on Sotatsu Yamasaki's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Yakima pitcher Jesús Román in the top of the seventh.

"This was a good win," said Yamasaki.

The 6th-place Miners are 18-17.
