Nationals Rally For 8-6 Win
|
Nationals second baseman Colm Sergeant put his stamp on his team's 8-6 win over the Casper Ghosts. Sergeant was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Ottawa in the contest. Reliever Miguel Angel Craig picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Jorge Cestero took the loss. The victory makes Ottawa 4-1.
Ottawa used the clutch hitting of John Putman to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 8-6. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Ottawa manager Ismael González.
