Hitting Streak Still Alive for Vásquez
Wednesday, August 18th , 2049
With 2 hits at MSL Nashville Ballpark today, Gabriel Vásquez added another game to his hitting streak -- the MSL Thunder Bay second baseman has now hit safely for 35 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Northern Lions BC today, as they fell, 8-7, to the MSL Nashville Outlaws.
"Frankly, I don't care about hits," MSL Nashville manager George Sperber said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Gabriel Vásquez flied out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
So far this season Vásquez has put up a .458 batting average with 81 hits, 2 home runs and 42 RBIs.
