Season May Be Over for Gators Gómez
Sunday, September 5th , 2049
North Ft. Myers starting pitcher Pedro Gómez could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. He exited yesterday's Flint game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Gómez would be out 9 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
For this year Gómez has chalked up 9 wins and 6 losses in 19 starts with 106 strikeouts in 109 innings and a 4.54 ERA.
