Johnson Magnificent in 3-0 Kingston Triumph
Wednesday, June 2nd , 2049
The Kingston Mangos did little to support starter Ronald Johnson against the Grand Forks Caterpillars, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Caterpillars, striking out 11 and surrendering 4 hits. The performance from Johnson allowed Kingston to escape with the 3-0 win despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said 'Ronald, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Johnson told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
Over the season Johnson has thrown 33.2 innings and dished out 34 strikeouts with a 3-2 mark and a 2.41 ERA.
