Hit Streak Over, Grey Wolves Stop Wonder
Saturday, September 18th , 2049
For 21 straight games, Tony Wonder tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.

Well, the 33-year-old Athletic Club KC left fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Vancouver Grey Wolves. The Grey Wolves held him hitless in 3 at-bats at Athletics Park today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 21.

There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Athletic Club KC took the win by the score of 5-0.

"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."

Looking at his season stats, Wonder has compiled a .334 batting average and a .363 on-base percentage, while hitting 10 home runs and driving in 72 runs.
