Flores Grades Out as July's Top Rookie Sunday, August 1st , 2049 When you think of rookies, you think of men in their early to mid-20's. Despite the fact that Julián Flores is 30, he made a big splash by putting up solid numbers to win United States Premier League Rookie of the Month honors. He told BNN reporters at the press conference, "I'm thrilled beyond words. All I can say is... better late than never." In July, the Baltimore right fielder hit .244 while rapping out 19 hits, 7 home runs, 20 RBIs and 12 runs scored. To date Flores has chalked up a .270 average with 19 home runs, driven in 51 runs and scored 42 times. |
