Toledo Gets 6-3 Win
|
Toledo rode a decent outing from starter Archie MacMurchy to victory over the Buckhead Bowties. The final score was 6-3. MacMurchy went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 11. His record improves to 9-10. Volmer Aalbers earned his 10th save in 11 tries.
Lester Threlfall, who finished 3rd in the 3L in doubles with 31 in 2042, aided the Toledo cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk.
"It was a solid team effort," said Threlfall after the game.
Toledo occupies 9th place in the Third League at 47-61.
