Knights Turn Back Cattlemen, 5-3
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Kingston Township Knights and Ft. Worth Cattlemen.
Kingston Township picked up a win at Cloverdale Legion Park, toppling the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 5-3. Pitcher Rodrigo García was one of the reasons the Knights triumphed. García went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-5.
Had Grover Barbaran not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Barbaran hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Knights.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said García.
The Cattlemen, now 54-43, have lost 4 straight.
