The Oakland Oaks did just enough to sneak past the Nashville Outlaws, 4-3, at The Oak Grove. Oakland pitcher Stanford Thompson, in particular, had a standout performance. Oakland reliever Stewart Telfer picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Christopher Tracy was saddled with the loss. The Oaks, now 46-37, have won 4 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Oakland second baseman Moumen Elsayad, facing Christopher Tracy, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Oaks the 4-3 win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs.
