Battery Collect 8-7 Win Over Bowties
|
Fans who congregated at 5 Paces Park were treated to extra-inning drama.
Charlie Cummings was instrumental in his team's 8-7 triumph over the Buckhead Bowties. The right fielder was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs for the Charleston Battery. Earning his 17th save for Charleston was James Tucker.
Charleston used the clutch hitting of Orlando Sáenz to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Battery the lead, 8-7. For the game, Sáenz had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Big win," said Sáenz.
The win makes Charleston 39-36.
