Thunder Bay Beats D.C., 3-1
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC had to overcome a fine performance from D.C. pitcher O-jun Kun to grab a 3-1 win at Washington Stadium. Kun allowed 3 runs over 7.2 innings. Thunder Bay starter Hakizimana Kipkorir was credited with the win after throwing 95 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-5. Fred Jerger notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.
Thunder Bay used the timely hitting of Keaton Kringlen to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Northern Lions BC on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Kringlen said after the game.
With the victory, the Northern Lions BC upped their record to 35-30.
