Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Voodoo
|
The Toledo Stingers got a sterling performance from pitcher Claude Richardson, but the New Orleans Voodoo still prevailed, 6-4. Richardson came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters. Herman Stone, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Voodoo saw their win-loss record go to 33-19. At the same time, the Stingers fell to 22-30.
New Orleans won the game in the bottom of the 16th inning. With no outs and Jong-beom Park on the mound for Toledo, first baseman Michizane Yamashita hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Voodoo fans to their feet.
"This wasn't a good win," said Yamashita. "It was a great win."
