Oaks Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Battery
The Oakland Oaks picked up a win at Charleston Armory, taking down the Charleston Battery, 4-2. Starting pitcher Nick Joseph was a big reason why. Juan Luis Matos got credit for the save for Oakland. It was his 10th of the year. The win puts Oakland at 16-16 this season.

The Battery had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Oaks going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old center fielder Clive Swanton came to the plate. Swanton hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch fastball from Charleston hurler Iván Contreras. It was Swanton's 1st double of the year.

Swanton told a Oakland Gazette reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
