Hit Streak Now at 20 for van Opdorp Thursday, August 23rd , 2046 The number just keeps getting higher. Boston first baseman Eisse van Opdorp has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 4 at-bats as the Boston took the 5-3 win over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Atlantica. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Northern Virginia manager David Lister said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Eisse van Opdorp singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and hit an RBI double in the 7th. van Opdorp is batting .297 with 24 home runs and 62 RBIs this season. |
