Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Ballard Beavers and Hicksville Hounds.
The Ballard Beavers picked up a win at Hound Pound, knocking off the Hicksville Hounds, 4-3. Starting pitcher Odilon Folha was a big reason why. Folha went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 5, and struck out 6. His record improves to 7-5.
It could have been a different outcome for Ballard, had it not been for Yin-reng Loong, the 20-year old center fielder . Loong contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Ballard up, 4-3.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Folha told the Ballard Chronicle. "But we take nothing for granted."
After today's action, Ballard sits at 51-45, while Hicksville falls to 40-56.
