Loss to Hounds Extends Ballard Losing Streak
|
The Ballard Beavers got a superb performance from pitcher Ricardo Méndez, but the Hicksville Hounds still won the game, 4-2. Méndez threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Brad Duncan, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 8-5. Ángel Hernández got the save, the 13th for him this season.
Hicksville relied on the bat of Bob Smith to get the win. The catcher ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Hounds ahead, 2-0. For the game, Smith had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
