Baby Lakers Pull Even With 7-5 Victory
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers defeated the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 7-5, at Field of the Browns. Bompton second baseman Francisco Aguilar had a superb performance. He went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times. Javier Rúbio picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-3. José Vargas converted his 8th save in 10 tries.
Early in the game, shortstop Brant Fletcher had a run-scoring double for Bompton. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Baby Lakers on top, 4-3.
Aguilar called the triumph "a good team win."
