Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Sea Dogs
|
The Maine Sea Dogs beat the Franklin Fire, 6-3. Maine pitcher and Princess Quarter, Sint Maarten, native Kelvin van Enk led the way. Steve Henry, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Joo-il Pak collected his 12th save.
Curt Marks, who is tied for 5th in the 3R in bases on balls with 45, aided the Maine cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Marks said.
Maine is now 37-40, Franklin 58-19.
