Losing Streak Continues for Shockers with 6-4 Loss to Fire
|
With second baseman Tsugahara Otani leading the charge, the Franklin Fire defeated the Surprise Shockers, 6-4, at Shockers Field. Otani, who is tied for 5th in the 3R in extra base hits with 28, was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Hai-liang Shuang. He tossed 101 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. Sergio Vázquez recorded his 20th save for Franklin.
In the top of the sixth, with Franklin leading 2-0, Matt Carter hit a fastball from Davey van de Voorst for a run-scoring single, giving the Fire the lead, 3-0.
