Baby Lakers Handle Beavers, 5-1
|
Bompton used a superb performance from starting pitcher Norberto González to down the Ballard Beavers, 5-1. In 6 innings, González surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. The Baby Lakers raised their record to 24-21.
The Baby Lakers got an important contribution from left fielder Gustavo Satiro, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a full count fastball into left for a bases-clearing double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Baby Lakers ahead, 5-1.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Satiro said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
