Beavers Nip Baby Lakers, 4-3
|
Bompton right fielder Wilton Meadows had a good game, even if his team did not. The Baby Lakers dropped a 4-3 decision to Ballard at Field of the Browns. Meadows went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. The win belongs to Jason Kofod in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Rizal Barerra took the loss for Bompton. Ballard is now 24-20, Bompton 23-21.
The outcome might have been different for Ballard, had it not been for Dennis Dooley, the 18-year old third baseman . Dooley stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Ballard up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Dooley told the Ballard Chronicle.
