Shockers Suffer 7-2 Loss to Hounds
|
The Hicksville Hounds stopped the Surprise Shockers, 7-2, at Shockers Field. The Hounds got a big game from Tony Leslie, who went 1 for 1 with 4 walks. Manuel Morales snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 2-0 on the season. Hicksville, now 14-22, holds down 10th place in the Menard's R.
The Hounds got a big boost from third baseman Jeffrey Sparks who had a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning off Shockers hurler Jeffrey Wilson. It was his 19th RBI of the season and put Hicksville on top, 1-0.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Leslie told a Hicksville Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
