The Bompton Baby Lakers got a stellar performance from pitcher Lee tai hoi Chen, who handcuffed the Crowley offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Titans Ballpark. Chen, now 4-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. José Vargas earned the save for Bompton, his 4th of the year.
Bompton used the bat of Francisco Aguilar to capture the win. The second baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Baby Lakers ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Aguilar said after the game.
With the win, Bompton raised its record to 17-10.
