Beavers Squelch Tigers Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Ballard Beavers and Twinsburg Tigers completed their game despite the rain.
Urmas Koskela never let the Tigers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Beavers to a win, 4-0. With the loss, Twinsburg falls to 8-10.
The Beavers grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Ángel Alomar hit a 2-run home run off Gilberto Elías, putting Ballard in front, 4-0. For Alomar, it was his 2nd home run of the season.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Koskela said after the game.
