Beavers Top Bompton, 6-5
|
Mitch Bryan was a major contributor to the 6-5 Ballard win over Bompton. The Beavers third baseman was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ballard reliever Jason Kofod picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. José Vargas was saddled with the loss. The loss lowers the Bompton record to 10-5.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Ballard trailing 5-4, Bryan hit a cutter from José Vargas for a 2-run home run, giving the Beavers the walk-off win.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Bryan, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
