Baby Lakers Reel Off Another Win
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers extended their winning streak.
Bompton Baby Lakers pitcher Javier Rúbio was in fine form, leading his team past the Surprise Shockers, 5-1. Rúbio got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 8 hits and walked 0 over 8.2 innings. Rúbio allowed 1 run. The save went to José Vargas, his 2nd this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Peer Koldijk? The Bompton center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Baby Lakers on top, 1-0. For the game, Koldijk had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Rúbio told the Bompton Citizen.
The Baby Lakers, now 8-2, have stormed out of the gates.
