Lighthouse Win, 4-2, at Northern Virginia

The Long Island Lighthouse got a good effort from starter Dusty Fox in defeating the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Atlantica. The final score was 4-2. Lloyd Natoff earned the save for Long Island, his 5th of the year. The Rainbow Mermaids fall to 5-8 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2046 season.
The Lighthouse got a big hit from shortstop Ernesto Valenzuela. In the top of the sixth, Valenzuela pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season put the Lighthouse ahead, 4-0.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Long Island manager Michael Esposito.
