The St. Louis Coeur opened their 2046 season with a triumph over the Long Island Lighthouse at The BFIB. The final score was 6-3. St. Louis right fielder Rafael Martínez had a big game. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

With St. Louis leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Martínez hit a cutter from Shem Burkholder for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Coeur ahead, 4-0.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Martínez told the St. Louis Chronicle.
