Dirty Reds Lose to Kingfishers in Walk Off
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers beat the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 2-1. Pittsburgh pitcher and Sauk City, Wisconsin, native Craig Culver led the way. Pittsburgh reliever Mike Davidson was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Jorge González. The Kingfishers raised their record to 31-62.
Li-ren Ku won the game with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth. In the contest, the Pittsburgh second baseman went 1 for 3 with a double.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said San Mateo skipper Dean Ashley, "and it cost us."
