Patriots Take Down Lighthouse, 9-8
|
The 9-8 Boston win over Long Island was due in large part to Tony Parra. The Patriots right fielder slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Boston reliever Brian Duncan was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Mac Hippenhammer took the loss. The second-place Patriots sport a record of 54-38.
The clutch hit was provided by Carlos Rivera. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring single off Mac Hippenhammer in the bottom of the 12th.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.
