Leviathan Tag 84s with 5-3 Loss
|
Nova Scotia picked up a win at 84s Field, bumping off the Greenville 84s, 5-3. Pitcher Ken Grant was a major reason the Leviathan emerged victorious. Grant went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 8-3. Nicolaas Eland, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
The Leviathan grabbed the lead in the top of the first. With two out, James Childs hit a 2-run home run off Ratko Peric, putting Nova Scotia in front, 4-0. For Childs, it was his 3rd home run of the season.
In postgame comments to the Nova Scotia Gazette, Grant said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
With the win, Nova Scotia pushed its record to 39-36.
