Behind the hitting of Juan Neváres, the Greenville 84s stopped the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 10-4. Neváres was 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 times for the 84s. Jesús Silva was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, with no walks and 10 strikeouts. Sixto Bustamante earned the save, his 2nd, for the 84s.

The Leviathan had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the 84s going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 33-year old catcher Freddy Díaz came to the plate. Díaz hit a 2-run double on a 0-2 curveball from Nova Scotia hurler Alfredo Molina. It was Díaz's 16th double of the year.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Greenville skipper John Bosma.

With the win, Greenville upped its record to 43-30.
