Rainbow Mermaids Edge Past Leviathan, 8-7
Northern Virginia and Nova Scotia duked it out and the Rainbow Mermaids came out victorious.

Nova Scotia got a terrific game from shortstop Ángel Saelices. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Northern Virginia, 8-7. Saelices went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Javier Ariza recorded the save for Northern Virginia, his 1st of the season.

Northern Virginia used the timely hitting of Jeff Weber to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.

"Big win," said Weber.

The 6th-place Rainbow Mermaids have a record of 16-18.
