The Nova Scotia Leviathan got a sterling performance from pitcher Isaac Gunner, but the San Mateo Dirty Reds still prevailed, 4-3. Gunner threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. Urs Ehles snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 2-0 on the season. With the victory, the Dirty Reds record now stands at 14-15.

Had Jason Slaybaugh not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Slaybaugh hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Dirty Reds.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Nova Scotia manager Andrew Powell.
