Late Magic Gets Northern Virginia 7-5 Win
With third baseman Chan-ho Shinn leading the charge, the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids defeated the Long Island Lighthouse, 7-5, at The Lighthouse. Shinn, who finished 3rd in the PL in doubles with 33 in 2040, was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. With the win, Northern Virginia goes to 13-15, while the Lighthouse fall to 13-15.

Northern Virginia used the clutch hitting of Kjartan Einarsson to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Einarsson. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
