Dirty Reds Snatch Late Win
|
San Mateo picked up a win at Atlantica, bumping off the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 4-2. Pitcher Ronald Fritz was a major reason the Dirty Reds emerged victorious. The win puts the Dirty Reds at 11-14, while the Rainbow Mermaids drop to 12-13.
San Mateo got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Quitério Ruah. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dirty Reds ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"We'll savor this win," Ruah told the San Mateo Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
