Thomas Goes Deep 3 Times Thursday, September 14th , 2045 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Brian Thomas did today at Goodyear Hanger Dome, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 10-0. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Thomas said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Yakima Hops first baseman blistered the Akron Blimps for 4 hits, batted in 7 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Akron manager Noel Ballard said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Brian Thomas hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Luis Rosário in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Luis Rosário in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Eugene Dwyer in the 6th and struck out in the 9th. Thomas is batting .213 this year with 13 home runs, 44 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 57 hits in 268 at-bats. |
